“Special Education means specially designed individualized or group instruction or special services or programs to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.” (VESID, NY State Parent’s Guide, August 2000)
What SEPTA can do for you?
SEPTA provides education (through guest speakers), training and support to enable parents to be more effective advocates for their children and to be more effective participants in the CSE Special Education Process. Parents with experience in the Special Education system can provide support for parents who are new to the system.
SEPTA is also a liaison between parents, teachers and administration. We work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our children.
